Happy Monday! What are your plans for the week?

It’s Dramatic B&W week at i heart faces. We always see photographs of brothers and sisters as children, sharing a tender moment. Sometimes we forget those moments as we grow older. But not these two.

I believe it captures a brother’s love so..well, dramatically. It’s a tender moment and one of the reasons I love being a photographer.

Had some college friends come up from Humboldt County last week to spend some time in Seattle. Found myself doing all of the tourist things I’ve yet to do here – Seattle Aquarium, EMP, and taking an obligatory photo of the Market sign.

Jumping for charity!

I don’t have very many jumping shots. But this one came to mind. It’s a little unconventional for a submission to I Heart Faces’ Week 10 – “Jump For Joy!” Photo Challenge, but the back story explains it, I think!

This was taken in 2008 during the Perilous Plunge in Eureka, CA. Community members dress up in teams and JUMP into the freezing Humboldt Bay to raise money for the Discovery Museum, which is a great marine educational resource for local children.

The Perilous Plunge is their yearly fundraiser – and a HUGE hit.

And we are right on time with March’s free desktop wallpaper download! This one might be my favorite yet. Taken last year at Cougar Mountain in Issaquah, I caught some magnificent light at the end of my walk.

It’s been a couple of months since the two got hitched but it feels like just yesterday I shot Angela & Nate’s Seattle, WA reception. They had gotten married in Maui a few weeks before with close family and friends and held a large reception once they got back into town.

Great food, local beer – and a gorgeous cupcake display of Trophy Cupcakes!

The gorgeous details came courtesy of Cassandra Lavalle of Coco+Kelley. Simple and budget-friendly, Cassandra transformed the room into something sweet. Beautiful work, my dear!

The August 2009 issue, with the MOST STUNNING LAKE I’VE EVER SEEN, can be seen poking out the top of my desk organizer.

Yes, it’s a little cheesy-looking, like it’s out of a Pottery Barn catalog. But I don’t care – I LOVE POTTERY BARN.
