Janee + Shane, Mercer Island { weddings }

It feels like SO long ago that I met Janee and Shane. They were the second couple to ever book me. We met for burgers and beers at a brewery in Issaquah. I remember thinking, “your wedding is so far away!” back in March…little did I know how quick this year would fly by! They originally planned to get married in Auburn, but switched it to the lovely Keewaydin Clubhouse in Mercer Island.

Janee and Shane planned their whole wedding themselves. She is such a handy woman – making all of her invites, place cards, table numbers, and programs herself! They came up a ton of cute little ideas to represent their life together. They’re big beer fans, and since Janee is a bartender, they set up beer tastings, which were a hit!

Janee and Shane – congratulations on starting your life together. I wish you love and happiness!

Right after the ceremony, we went into the forested backyard of the clubhouse and found a great spot to snap a few quick portraits.

Janee brought Jim Yeager in from Portland for his photo booth. The guests had a great time with it.

Janee and Shane’s cake came from the same bakery that her mother’s wedding cake came from – Borracchini’s Bakery, which has been in Seattle since 1923!

I’ve got to say – Adam had THE BEST lights this year. Second runner up was probably Christie and Jeremiah’s wedding – but that was DJ’d by Lars, one of Adam’s DJs. They did a great job. If done wrong, lighting setups can make it difficult to not get bright splotches of color on guests’ faces. When it’s subtle and classy like this, it makes my job so much easier!

I just had to post this one! The fabulous Emily of Manette Gracie Events put on this cute apron Janee had brought to scoop the ice cream! She’s an excellent scooper.

Group shots like these are AWESOME. Ladies and gentlemen, can we do this again? :) I particularly love the flowers in the face.
