Oh, sun. I miss you. | Personal

Back in..January…or was it February  - I met a bride across the pond in Bremerton for a client meeting. It was an absolutely GORGEOUS, sunny day – the kind of days that are so rare in Seattle. Ryan and I spent 4 years in Humboldt County, where the weather was just like Seattle – foggy, rainy, cold, and depressing. Maybe it was the Redwoods or the Pacific Ocean – or the ah-ma-zing food – but those sunny days felt so much different in Humboldt than they do here in Seattle.

Either way – we never took them for granted in Humboldt, and certainly don’t here. So while we had spent the day in the city the day before, after our meeting with Kate (who hired us! Yay!) we headed out to Seabeck, where I had shot my first family session back in 2009. It’s one of my favorite spots in Kitsap County – a tiny little “don’t blink or you’ll miss it” town on Hood Canal. We wandered around on the rocky beach and took the sunset ferry home. Sun. Water. My Husband. What else could a girl want?

You’ll see Ryan below – he’s my second shooter husband embarking on his first wedding season. He’s a little terrified – but he’ll make it through. :) When you see the beard, tell him hi – he’s pretty shy, but he may say a few words back. We’re working on some potentially-awesome super-secret things together at SHP, so you’ll see him a lot at weddings this year.

Look hard enough below and you may even see a bit o’ sunflare. Which, before these shots, I can’t even remember the last time I saw some in my camera.

Summer – I MISS YOU. I can’t wait until we’re reunited.
