A week or so ago, I posted Part 1 of Mark and Merriah’s intimate wedding on the island of Mallorca, Spain in the Balearic Islands at La Residencia. That weekend needed two posts to do it justice, so finally, here is the second half.

It’s hard for me to put into words to describe Mark and Merriah. I first met them at Kristie and Paul’s wedding last year at Swan’s Trail Farm – and when Merriah asked if I would join them in Spain to document their wedding, there was no hesitation: of course.

It’s been almost two months since their wedding, and I can still feel the sun on my shoulders, the smell of dirt on the Serra de Tramuntana, the unrivaled color of the Mediterranean Sea and the taste of the unbelievably amazing food. Deia is a truly magical place in every sense of the word – and I can see why Mark and Merriah fell in love with it.

La Residencia is set in 30 acres of olive and citrus groves on a hilltop in Deià on the north western coast of the island where the poet Robert Graves lived and wrote his best works.  The hotel was created from two private 16th and 17th century manor houses – Son Moragues and Son Canals. Their dinner following the ceremony was on-site at the stunning El Olivo, a refurbished 16th century olive press. Reputed to be the most romantic setting in Mallorca, El Olivo has spectacular views toward the old town of Deia and up into the Tramuntana mountains. A romantic dinner we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.

Thank you, so, so much for allowing Ryan and I into your hearts and gifting us with the honor of shooting the most perfect day of your life. You started this journey months ago with me as clients, but ended up friends. Congratulations and so many wishes for a happy life together.

The day after their wedding, we set off to Palma, where that evening a big family dinner was celebrated followed by a late evening stroll along the promenade, browsing a street fair. A great end to a fantastic time.
